He was gone.

Dead, like Taichi had said. Passed on, like Sora had said. No longer with us, like Jyou said. Gone, like Yamato had said.

Put it anyway that you wanted to.

He was dead.

Gone.

Gone.

Not coming back.

Koushiro could tell that Sora, Jyou, and Yamato had tried to be careful telling him. They knew that he and Gennai had been...close. But Taichi had been the one that broke the news to him. Sora, Jyou, and Yamato had attempted to cushion the fall.

But that had just made it hurt worse.

When he had found out the news, he had just let out a slight whimper. Then Taichi slapped him on the back and told him to take it like a man. What did he do then?

He burst out into tears and ran off.

Yeah. Very manly.

Everything else after that, like if anyone went after him, and where he had ran, was just a blur. In fact, he had no idea where he was. And no idea how to get back to camp. All he knew that he was at this place. There was a high cliff, a shimmering lake beneth it, a forest behind it, and a waterfall under its edge. Rather beautiful...unfitting scenery for such a tragic event...

"Koushrio!" a voice called out behing him. Koushiro turned around to see Jyou running towards him.

Jyou...his heart gave a light flutter, and then he felt a hot blush crawl up his neck.

"Are you alright?" Jyou fussed over him. Koushiro, still blushing, smiled slightly and let his gaze wander to the ground.

"I'm fine..." he murmered, shuffling his feet. Jyou looked down at him curiously.

"You know, everyone was really worried after you ran off." Koushiro looked up to him.

"Really?" He doesn't mean him himself...and not in that way, even if he was...he just
worried because he has to...

"Yeah! Why wouldn't I be? I mean, it is you..." Jyou said, placing a hand on his shoulder. Then, to Koushiro's disappointment, he took it away.

"Um...come on, we should really be getting back...the others are all probably worried, and we can't let them be worried, because, they would just get more worried, and..." Jyou babbled, trailing off. "Uh, come on..." he began to walk, and Koushiro followed.

LadyDevimon watched the two children walk off together. "Is that love?"

"Well, not really. There is much more to it than that. But those two digi-destined love each other, although each one dreads admitting it." Piedmon answered.

"Well, why? If each child feels these feelings toward the other, why not admit it?" LadyDevimon asked again. Piedmon sighed.

"LadyDevimon, according to humans, boys are not supposed to feel for other boys. And aren't we forgetting about a little something?" Piedmon inquired. LadyDevimon remained remained silent for a while, then spoke up again.

"Sincerity?" Piedmon smiled.

"Exactly."

"Well, why not just pair up Sincerity with Friendship, Love with Courage, and Reliability with Knowledge? Wouldn't it all just work out that way?" Piedmon groaned.

"LadyDevimon, Sincerity and Friendship do not love each other! Sincerity loves Knowledge and Love, and Friendship loves Love and Courage! Courage and Love do feel for each other, but Courage has strong feelings for Friendship, and Love has strong feelings for Sincerity!" With that said, Piedmon left the tree tops, leaving LadyDevimon to ponder this. She mearly sighed.

"This love thing is much too complicated."
