It was far past midnight, and the only sound, except the soft breathing of the gathered, sleeping children and digimon, was the ever present click clicking of someone's fingers, rapidly at work upon a keyboard.

Koushiro narrowed his gaze, peering down at the laptop screen. It was late, and the wear of it all showed fully on his face... the dark circles under his eyes. Even the way he seemed to nod off ever so often...

Yet not long enough to be swallowed completely by slumber. Before he was enveloped, he would snap awake, and to work he would go, right away.

He was exhausted.

By some things were always more important than little things like that.

'I have to.. figure this all out...' He thought, fingers dancing over the keys. Rapidly...

But in one of his lapses, he didn't snap back to attention. His head lolled forwards, and his eyes slipped shut. Sleep had one, and drug him under... his fingers paused, resting lightly, as he slept, bent over the still glowing screen of the laptop.

His quest for knowledge would have to wait for another day.

Something was strange, when he awoke. Only for the fact that he couldn't remember falling asleep. Normally, even when he stayed up as late as he knew he had last night, he could remember basically, when he had drifted off.

The night before was a blank.

Koushiro sighed, gazing up at the morning sky. He could hear his friends idle chit chatter, and he yawned, sitting up. Rubbing his eyes, he gazed towards the gathered group.

"Oh! Hiya Koushiro!" Taichi called, amicably. He then was reeled back into discussion with Yamato,. Something about which way they should travel, on there way to Vandemons.

It was Mimi who dropped beside him, sitting. She offered him a piece of fruit, gazing off as she did. "It's nice that you aren't already on that little machine of yours..."

Koushiro sighed, accepting the reddish piece of fruit. Mimi never understood. None of them did.

"But we're going to be on our way soon... you'll probably play on it while we travel. Won't you?"

He took a bite of the fruit, letting the somewhat tart taste linger. What was she bothering with.. why did she seem concerned. He gazed at her, and spoke when he was able.

"I just might... It's not playing though, Mimi. I'm only trying to find out more about the Digiworld. And the Digimon..."

She nodded, her shoulders sagging a bit. He was almost sure he heard her words. "You always say that... Why won't you say something else."

He blinked. "Mimi...?" He asked, confused. Had he heard her? Or just the wind.

She grinned, and waved her hand dismissively. "It's nothing!" And with that, she stood, moving off towards the others.

He gazed after her, until her heard movement to his side. He looked up, at... Jyou's tall form. The dark haired boy offered Koushiro his laptop. Koushiro blinked. "Jyou..?"

Jyou sweatdropped. "You fell asleep working on it last night... I woke up, and found you like that. I saved what you were working on. And turned it off for you."

Koushiro smiled. "Thank you, Jyou."

Jyou grinned, pushing his glasses up. "Well, I know you don't want the batteries to run out..."

Koushiro nodded, accepting the laptop, taking firmly in his grasp.

Jyou smiled. "It was nothing, Koushiro..." He shook his head then, though, making a dissatisfied sound. "Really though, you shouldn't stay up so late that you fall asleep at it."

Koushiro sweatdropped, and waved his hand a bit dismissively, after he slipped the laptop under his arm. "Don't you go and be like this as well, Jyou. I'm perfectly fine staying up so late."

Jyou grinned, slipping his glasses off to wipe off the lenses. He looked off towards the others, cleaning his glasses, as if he was distracted. By something. Someone...

Koushiro opened the laptop, and set off to work a bit. Before they would be on there way.

So he didn't see a certain someone, gazing towards him. Someone who was saddened by how quickly Koushiro had been absorbed into the every day, normal embrace of his laptop. Someone who turned away, and walked back to the others.

Jyou slipped back on his glasses, as he reached the group.

"Are we leaving now?" He asked, calmly.

The group of children and Digimon did continue on with there journey. Places to go, crests to find... you know how it is. Koushiro lingered towards the back of the group, though it was Sora who brought up the rear. He was to involved with talking about his newest theory to notice the look of absent pain upon her face.

"...and if we do it that way, then everything will be simple enough! We'll be able to make it home, and stop him. That's what we need, right?" He beamed at his idea. This one could work, yes it could. If only he could get the others to swallow it...

It was a good idea. Why couldn't they see it?

Koushiro sighed, and Mimi brushed one side of her bangs away. "Really, Koushiro... could it be that simple? It sounds so hard... We've done so much already." She was whining. Palmon bounced along beside her.

"I'm sure Koushiro's plan is a good one, Mimi..."

Koushiro grinned. "Hai! It really is simple..."

His words were cut off, as Jyou, walking ahead of him, stopped, and turned around quickly. Koushiro was nearly knocked off of his feet by the sudden suprise.

"Eh... Jyou... What..." Koushiro shook his head. "What was I saying?" He mused for a moment. "Oh, yes... It really is a simple plan..."

"It won't do anything, Koushiro..."

Koushiro blinked. Words stinging his pride, his thirst to understand...

"What, Jyou?" He asked, a mock grin slipping onto his face.

"I said it won't work. So why do you even bother with it? Your computer can't do anything to help us... So just give up." His fists had clenched at his sides. "Just... we just have to do what we need with the crests That's all... Then we can go home. It's as simple as that. I..."

Koushiro gazed towards Jyou, wide eyed, unable to register. Jyou had never said anything like that before. And Koushiro wasn't going to let that hold him down. He grinned, ad shrugged. "If this plan fails, I have a head full of ideas to tap..." He said, tapping the side of his head for emphasis. He shook his head. "Don't worry, Jyou. That's all you seem to do..."

He started past Jyou, towards the group that was steadily moving ahead, Mimi tagging after him. Jyou's sighed, a heavy, heavy breath, yet instead of speaking, he turned, and made his way back to Koushiro, walking a few feet behind him.

One thing twisted into another. The crisis of the day befell them, and it was more drastic than any before. Sora and Yamato had been swallowed in a landslide... The entire group, there digimon, was attempting to free the rock strewn entrance, so that they could see Sora and Yamato within. And hope...

Taichi worked extra hard, pushing Agumon to his limit. Jyou noted the fervor in his eyes, as he watched the activities. It was obvious...

Koushiro was at the back, bringing up a diagram of the entrance on his computer. "If you just wait, I can work a way through. Then we'll know how to take out the rocks, without fear of it caving in."

That scared Taichi even more, and the burrowing came to a stand still.

And Koushiro typed away at his computer, sweat beading his brow. So involved, he didn't notice a form sit down beside him. A tall form, one who was at first silent.

The moments drug by, with only the sound of breath, and typing. The sounds of worried cries, and of Taichi's frustrated mumbling. It passed by slowly...

Koushiro felt, no heard, a mumbled set of words. It drew him up from his computer, and turned.. facing Jyou. "Jyou... I'm really busy right now... This has to work..."

He went back to typing. Typing away... Jyou sighed, and repeated his words. Three distinct words... But Koushiro was beyond hearing. He sighed again. And waited, his shoulders sagged. What other time could he tell him this? When else.... Even with everyone around, no one noticed him. Maybe they just think I'm worried only about Sora and Yamato...

I am worried. Just.. not only about them.

Look at me... Please.

He sat, not patiently, as Koushiro typed.

~~~~~
"I've got it!" Koushiro exclaimed, jumping to his feet. They crowded around him, all but Jyou, who sat back. As they moved towards the blocked entrance, he finally stood, and followed.
Taichi shouted Yamato's name, happily. Finally...
"Move them in this set pattern he instructed..." Then spoke more, explaining which stones had to be moved. They were definitely up to the task. And weren't ready for the avalanche of dust that greeted there work. At least it hadn't struck any of them...
At least, not the ones that stood free.
Jyou spoke at Koushiro's side. Loud enough for him to hear, if not for one thing. "Koushiro, I love you..."
Yet the words were hidden as Yamato began to shout. Somewhere within the rubble, he was fine. "Taichiiii! Taichiiii! Minna! Over here!!!"
Jyou's gaze lowered, as the work went on, as they all worked.
