Time seemed to stand still around the two boys, and the sleeping digimon Gomamon, who still pressed up against the side of Jyou's leg. Silence, frozen stiff...

Jyou, afraid to speak again.

And Koushiro, not knowing what to say. Despite the fact that there were so many, many things that he could say. From why, to ... To... To something he wasn't quite sure of. Yet wasn't quite sure of. Yet something he saw mirrored, yes mirrored, in the dark eyes that gazed with such a feverish emotion, towards him...

"Jyou... you love... me..."

His words were spaced, and were soft. Yet between the two, it was obvious to Koushiro that the other had heard. Because Jyou turned away. If in shame, or in fear.. Koushiro wasn't sure. But the younger boy swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat, the lump that was more than just emotion... And spoke.

"Jyou..." His words were but a breath, dancing between the two. "I..don't understand why.. you..."

Jyou cringed, very visibly so. Koushiro sighed.

"Gomen nasai..."

The others shoulders hung, in pain. But that's.. Jyou.. listen to me.. not to what it sounds like..

Please...?

"Mimi..."

Jyou turned to him, a look of surprise on his face. "What?" He asked, his voice high.

"I think I need to tell her..gomen nasai."

"B..B..But...?"

"Why are you so suprised.. I... always wanted someone to say they loved me, Jyou..."

Jyou's eyes were wide.

"And I"m glad it was you... You, more than anyone else."

Koushiro wound unsteady arms around the taller boy, and hugged him, pressing his face close. "Jyou..." His words were mumbled. But intent was clear. "Thank you.. I'm glad... Very glad..."

"But.. I was sure..."

That you would be angry. Anything.. even go with Mimi.

Yet Jyou quieted, and hugged Koushiro, quite happy with the turn of events.

~~~~~
Such a very nice night. The wind was only a bit cool, and it tickled her nose as it passed by. She wasn't even sure WHY she'd woken up.. Only that she was supposed to, it seemed.
But why? To find the two hugging? To hear the words they had said to eachother?
No..that couldn't be the purpose.
But it was, and so she fled from the two, back to the safety of slumber...
Never wanting to look back. And hoping it was but a dream.
~~~~~
"It's late..we should go to sleep..." Koushiro, stammered, and he felt warmth on his cheeks.

"Sleep..hai, that is a good idea."

It felt nice. He was glad he'd told..he was glad Koushiro had accepted. Such a wonderful turn of events. So nice indeed...

He stood, pulling Koushiro with him.

"Ah... What about..Gomamon?" Koushiro asked, softly, a small grin playing upon his lips. Jyou sighed, a twinkle in his eyes.

"I can't leave him..." He relcutantly pulled back from Koushiro, and picked the sleeping Digimon up.

"Back to camp?"

Jyou nodded. "Back to camp."

~~~~~
Jyou knelt, and set Gomamon donw. The sleeping Digimon murmured things. Hmm, even Digimon have to dream... He patted the sleeping head, and stood, turning back to Koushiro.
The camp was asleep. Hmm... weird, Sora was gone. Maybe.. maybe she'd gotten well enough? But why would she leave?
Even Taichi and Yamato..they were gone too.
"I'm worrying about them too..." Koushiro sighed. Even with this, a night which had become his own. worry for his friends took over. Jyou nodded, sincerely.
"Maybe we should go out and look..or wait up for them?"
Koushiro nodded. "We can wait up for them.. Logically, if we go out at this time of the night, we're more likely to get lost than anything else."
Jyou nodded abruptly.
"Hai... I suppose we can just sit up here..and wait up for them. Right?"
Koushiro smiled, and moved to take a seat by the low burning fire. "Of course..." He whsipered, looking back at Jyou, over his shoulder.
Jyou smiled, and sank to a sitting position besides Koushiro, winding his arm around the others shoulder. He breathed a sigh of contentment as he felt Koushiro lean close, and tightened his hold upon his shoulder.
"Omae ga..suki da, Koushiro..."
~~~~~
Omae ga suki da, translates as I like you. (in that special way) I think it's a cute way to say I lvoe you..wa...Jyoushiro. *-* Hee, I really should put this BEFORE Trials of Love. I mean, look at how it leaves off... Hmm... *does so* ^^
